Datolite Healing Energies and Mineralogy

Datolite Healing Energies and Mineralogy

Datolite opens and clears the brow and crown chakras enabling an easy flow of energy, communication and information both from the external higher realms and the internal Self. It clarifies the thinking processes, stimulates the flow of original ideas, aids concentration and the assimilation of new information. Datolite is beneficial for bones, teeth and the immune system.

Photo shows green Datolite crystal cluster.

Datolite has the chemistry CaBSiO4(OH), Calcium Boron Silicate Hydroxide and belongs to the mineral class Silicates, subclass Nesosilicates, and group Datolite. It can be found in basalt vesicles with Calcite and Zeolites (and may be confused with certain Zeolites that share similar characteristics). It is associated with other minerals including Prehnite, Danburite, Epidote, Copper, Calcite, Quartz and Zeolites.
Datolite forms nicely faceted complex crystals. Datolite has three main crystal habits. One is a granular with anhedral to subhedral crystals in the matrix. Another is porcelain-like masses with fine-grained, translucent massive material and lastly prismatic with slender prism-like crystals (similar to Tourmaline). The colour of Datolite ranges through white, colourless, yellowy, pink-red, grey, brown and green. Datolite is named from the Greek dateisthai, which means to divide in reference to the granular aggregates the crumble easily.

Desert Rose Healing Energies

Desert Rose Healing Energies

Desert Rose aids personal development in appropriate directions. It helps when managing many things at one time, and brings things together. Desert Rose brings good fortune. It is beneficial for bones and the skins elasticity. NB DO NOT PLACE IN DRINKING WATER.

Dinosaur Bone Healing Energies

Dinosaur Bone Healing Energies

Fossilised Dinosaur Bone facilitates connecting with ancient times, people and knowledge. It is an excellent stone for past life work. It increases motivation, determination and energy and increases the ability to memorise. Fossilised Dinosaur Bone aids communication on all levels. It encourages mobility, and stimulates the healing of bones.

Sauropods (meaning Lizard-Footed) were an infra-order of large, four-legged, herbivorous dinosaurs. They had very long necks, small heads with blunt teeth, a small brain, and long tails for counterbalancing their necks. They had large guts, which were necessary for digesting huge amounts of plant material. They walked relatively slowly on four short, thick, five-toed legs. Their nostrils were located on the upper parts of their skulls, sometimes very close to the eyes. A few of the later Sauropods, including the Titanosauridae had some body armour.

Sauropods ranged in size from the early Anchisaurids that were 7-10 feet (2-3 m) long to the later giants that were over 100 feet (30 m) long. This latter group includes Diplodocids, Titanosaurids and Brachiosaurids. It is uncertain why these plant eaters had such long necks. The Sauropod with the longest neck was Mamenchisaurus, whose neck was about 46 feet (14 m) long, over half of the animal's length.

Palaeontologists thought Sauropods had a second brain at the base of their tail; however it appears that what they thought was a second brain might be an enlargement in the spinal cord in the hip area containing nerves and fatty tissue. This enlargement was larger than the animal's tiny brain and may have controlled the animal's hind legs and tail.

Sauropods appeared in the late Triassic period and were common, widespread, and diverse by the Jurassic period. They became extinct at the end of the Cretaceous period (65 million years ago), along with the other remaining dinosaurs. Sauropods have been found on all continents except Antarctica. They are the largest land animals ever discovered.

Diopside Healing Energies

Diopside Healing Energies

Diopside aids analytical, logical and mathematical thinking as well as academic learning. It enhances willpower. It benefits physical and psychological weaknesses and reduces muscle spasms.

Dioptase Healing Energies

Dioptase Healing Energies

Dioptase clears and stimulates all chakras to a higher level of awareness and clarifies the connection between the physical body and the auric layers. It promotes a sense of NOW, whilst being aware of the memory of past lives. It raises consciousness both of the Self and the planet and balances the yin-yang energies. It is particularly beneficial for the heart chakra. Dioptase alleviates pain in general, reduces high blood pressure and eases tension. It relieves the effects of heart and lung disorders and generally benefits all cells and structures. It helps those with Meniere's disease and increases T-cell count for those with AIDS.

Dolomite Healing Energies and Mineralogy

Dolomite Healing Energies and Mineralogy

Dolomite brings a sense of peace and inner tranquillity. It stems energy leaks from the chakras and balances and aligns them. It promotes generosity of both thought and action. It brings a balance of energies to the environment. Dolomite benefits those feeling depressed, grief, anxiety or lonely. It strengthens bones, teeth, nails, skin and blood cells. It strengthens female reproductive organs and reduces the effects of PMT. . Do not cleanse in salt.

Photo shows a pink-brown Dolomite cluster.

Dolomite has the chemistry CaMg(CO3)2, Calcium Magnesium Carbonate and belongs to the mineral class Carbonates, Dolomite group. It is a common sedimentary rock-forming mineral, which may be found in massive beds several hundred feet thick. In addition, Dolomite is found in metamorphic marbles, hydrothermal veins and replacement deposits. It is named after the French mineralogist Deodat de Dolomieu.
Dolomite does not form on the surface of the earth, although massive layers of Dolomite can be found in ancient rocks. It is thought that Dolomite rock is one of the few sedimentary rocks that undergo a significant mineralogical change after it is deposited. It is initially deposited as Calcite/Aragonite; however, during a process call diagenesis the Calcite and/or Aragonite is altered to Dolomite. Although this is a similar process to metamorphism, this change does not fulfil those criteria.
Typically, Dolomite's crystal habit is blocky rhombohedral, however some crystals are curved (like a saddle), possibly due to twinning. Other habits include coarse crystalline, prismatic and massive. Crystals are transparent to translucent, lustre is vitreous and colour ranges from true white, grey, yellow, pink or brown. The crystal system is trigonal. Dolomite is similar to Calcite and may be difficult to distinguish. However, Dolomite has Magnesium ions.
Minerals associated with Dolomite include Calcite, Fluorite, Barite and Quartz. Notable locations include the USA, Ontario, Canada, Switzerland, Spain and Mexico as well as many other locations worldwide.

Duftite Healing Energies and Mineralogy

Duftite Healing Energies and Mineralogy

Duftite highlights behaviour patterns that others might find too challenging, and facilitates ways to moderate these. It promotes an acceptance of the challenging behaviours of others and a realisation that this is a reflection of what is 'hidden' within. Duftite brings a sense of contentment, hope and freedom.

Photo shows bright green Duftite on matrix.

Duftite has the chemistry (PbCu(AsO4)(OH). Lead Calcium Copper Zinc Arsenate Hydroxide and is a member of the mineral class Phosphate, subclass Arsenates, Adelite group. Typically, the chemical formula is written without Calcium and Zinc, as these elements are not always a significant percentage of the mineral. Duftite is a secondary mineral in the oxidised zone of hydrothermal base metal deposits. It was named after G. Duft, a general manager at Tsumeb mine, Namibia in 1920.
Crystal habits of Duftite include microcrystalline crusts and small tabular crystals. They are transparent to translucent and the lustre is vitreous. The colour of Duftite is one of its most distinguishing features; typically being a bright apple-lime green. The crystal system is orthorhombic.
Minerals associated with Duftite include Diopside, Quartz, Shattucktite, Crocoite, Ajoite, Cerussite, Azurite, Calcite, Wulfenite and Malachite. Notable locations include Tsumeb, Namibia and Arizona, USA.
